{"id":11413,"date":"2026-06-21T00:03:33","date_gmt":"2026-06-21T00:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/second-home.uk\/?p=11413"},"modified":"2026-06-21T00:03:33","modified_gmt":"2026-06-21T00:03:33","slug":"property-firms-account-for-55-of-reform-uk-donors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/second-home.uk\/?p=11413","title":{"rendered":"Property firms account for 55% of Reform UK donors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Property and construction companies represent more than half of Reform UK\u2019s corporate donor base, according to an analysis of Electoral Commission records conducted by Byline Times.<\/p>\n<p>The research found that 22 of the 40 companies that have donated to Reform UK since 2019 operate in the property and construction sectors, accounting for 55% of corporate donors.<\/p>\n<h2>Financial contributions<\/h2>\n<p>Property-related businesses have contributed approximately \u00a32.42 million of the \u00a35.87 million received in corporate donations by Reform UK and its predecessor, the Brexit Party, between 2019 and 2026, representing 41% of total corporate funding.<\/p>\n<p>The largest property-related corporate donors identified include TISUN Investments Limited, E.I.R.P Limited, J.C. Bamford Excavators Ltd, London AC Ltd and Interior Architecture Landscape Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Byline Times stated there was no evidence that any company or individual donor had acted improperly, or that Reform\u2019s policies had been designed to benefit specific businesses.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Policy positions<\/h2>\n<p>Reform UK\u2019s 2024 election programme included pledges to \u201cunleash housebuilding\u201d and fast-track housing schemes on brownfield land. The party has also supported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertywire.com\/news\/uk\/government-proposes-homebuying-reforms-to-cut-delays\/\">planning reforms<\/a> designed to make it easier for major residential developments to secure approval and reduce delays in the planning system.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Tice, the party\u2019s Deputy Leader and a property developer, has pledged to repeal the Renters\u2019 Rights Act through a proposed \u201cGreat Repeal Bill\u201d. This follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propertywire.com\/news\/uk\/government-to-ban-landlords-from-holding-tenant-deposits\/\">recent government measures<\/a> affecting the rental sector.<\/p>\n<p>The party has also proposed moving migrants out of social housing and into the private sector, alongside tighter regulations for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).<\/p>\n<p>Reform UK did not respond to requests for comment on the findings.
