The UK PropTech Association (UKPA) has established a Residential PropTech Committee to provide estate and letting agents with guidance on technology adoption and compliance management.<\/p>\n

The committee brings together agents, PropTech firms and industry bodies, including Propertymark<\/a> and REACH UK, to identify barriers to technology adoption and improve collaboration across the sector.<\/p>\n

Addressing operational pressures<\/h2>\n

The initiative responds to rising operational costs, increasing compliance requirements and changing consumer expectations facing agents. A pilot scheme will run until December 2026, producing research, case studies and recommendations for Government and the property industry.<\/p>\n

Philip Farrell, Co-Founder of Offr and Chair of the committee, said: \u201cAgents are acutely aware of the ever-increasing need to embrace technology into their business. An already excessive workload added to a lack of tech expertise\/understanding can potentially lead to \u2018PropTech fatigue\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that assistance in this area has become \u201can essential ingredient in the success of a modern estate agency business\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Focus on practical outcomes<\/h2>\n

Sammy Pahal, Managing Director of UKPA, said the residential property sector is entering a period of significant change, with increasing focus from Government and industry on improving efficiency, transparency and consumer experience of property transactions and lettings.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis committee is not about promoting technology for the sake of it. It\u2019s about helping the industry better understand what works in practice, where the challenges are, and how we create better outcomes for businesses, consumers, and the wider property market,\u201d Pahal said.<\/p>\n

The committee\u2019s work comes as lettings firms expand their service offerings<\/a> and adapt to regulatory changes affecting the sector.<\/p>\n
