Hull, Sunderland and Carlisle are the most affordable student cities across Great Britain, analysis from Rightmove shows.<\/p>\n
In Hull and Sunderland you can typically rent for \u00a3804 per month, will Carlisle coming in just behind at \u00a3828 per month.<\/p>\n
These are almost half as much as the GB average, which is \u00a31,565 per month.<\/p>\n
The average advertised rent for a two-bedroom flat is now \u00a31,612 per month, while for a four-bedroom house it is now \u00a32,260.<\/p>\n
Colleen Babcock, property expert at Rightmove, said:\u00a0\u201cMoving to a new city or just out of the family home for the first time is an exciting experience for many students, but trying to find that first place to rent can be hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo make it easier, deciding on your budget range first can help you narrow the options.\u00a0If you\u2019re finding it difficult to find a home that ticks all your boxes, consider which areas you\u2019re willing to compromise on.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor example, you could move to an area further from transport or outside a city centre to make your budget go further. Another option might be to share with friends and split the rent.\u00a0Local estate agents will be in the best position to guide you on available places within your budget, that tick most of your boxes.\u201d<\/p>\n
In contrast, St. Albans (\u00a32,359), Oxford (\u00a32,093, and Brighton (\u00a32,031) are the most expensive cities for renters outside of London per month. In the capital rents have reached a record \u00a32,712.<\/p>\n
