The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has launched a consultation on global construction standards.<\/p>\n
The plan is to release a combined professional standard in Q1 2026, which will portray global principles of quantity surveying and project management.<\/p>\n
There will also be six practice information pieces covering the life cycle of construction projects.<\/p>\n
Amit Patel, RICS head of professional practice, construction, said: \u201cFor the first time, RICS is launching a professional standard on construction which incorporates updates that would normally be drip-fed over a ten-year period.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that this new model will enable professionals to update and improve their practice more swiftly and enable a more consistent framework for standards.<\/p>\n

The professional standard has been authored by industry expert Matt Thompson and supported by a group of RICS members, as well as others from across the world.<\/p>\n
