A rising number of people are looking to transform their garages into functional living spaces, according to garage conversion firm Pro Assist Property Services.<\/p>\n
The firm suggested people are opting for conversions instead moving due to the cost and inconvenience of the latter.<\/p>\n
Asa Herbert of Pro Assist Property Services, said: \u201cMost people don\u2019t even use their garages for parking anymore.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow, that space is being turned into something useful, a home office, a gym, or an extra bedroom.\u201d<\/p>\n
Garage conversions start from \u00a310,000 and can often be completed in two weeks \u2013 while they offer the biggest uplift to a property\u2019s value in areas where parking isn\u2019t in high demand.<\/p>\n
However, since they generally aren\u2019t designed for living, they tend to have poor insulation or ventilation, which can lead to problems with cold and damp.<\/p>\n
