Camden Town\u2019s Xchange has been granted consent by the council\u2019s planning committee, which will deliver a venue combined with affordable homes and student studios.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the proposals is a 1,000 sq m flexible cultural and leisure space, replacing the former Mecca Bingo unit, vacant since 2024, and confirmed closure of the ODEON Camden Parkway cinema in spring 2026.<\/p>\n
The London development, designed by architect AHMM, will also introduce restaurants, shops and spaces suitable for cafes.<\/p>\n

When discussing the development, local people backed tackling tall blank frontages, meaning building facades that lack features like windows, doors or retail on the ground level. It\u2019s thought these fuel anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n
