{"id":6886,"date":"2025-12-30T09:02:27","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T09:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/second-home.uk\/?p=6886"},"modified":"2025-12-30T09:02:27","modified_gmt":"2025-12-30T09:02:27","slug":"buckinghamshire-development-planned-propertywire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/second-home.uk\/?p=6886","title":{"rendered":"Buckinghamshire development planned &#8211; PropertyWire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans have been submitted for 102 homes in Chalfont St Giles, with half of the properties being designated as affordable.<\/p>\n<p>Bellway Strategic Land is seeking outline planning permission from Buckinghamshire Council for the project on an 11-acre site off Narcot Lane.<\/p>\n<p>Homes ranging from one to five-bedrooms are proposed, with half of the properties to be sold on the open market and half to be made available as affordable housing for low-cost rent or shared ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Madeleine Anderson-Wood, senior strategic land manager for Bellway in the South East, said: \u201cThere is an urgent need for new housing in this part of Buckinghamshire, and particularly a need for affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe latest annual monitoring report published by the council shows that no new affordable homes were completed in Chalfont St Giles in the year between April 2022 and March 2023 \u2013 and only 14 across the entire East Area of Buckinghamshire in the same period.<\/p>\n<p><!--   \t\t  \t\t\t \t\t\t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(\"div-gpt-ad-1715620536068-0\"); }); \t\t\t  \t\t  \t -->  \t <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy delivering 50% affordable homes, our proposals would make a hugely significant contribution to meeting the housing needs of local people, particularly those unable to purchase on the open market.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe development would represent a logical and sustainable use of this grey belt site which sits in a sustainable location within easy reach of the wide range of amenities in Chalfont St Giles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would also provide large areas of open space, including a play area, for the benefit of the wider community, as well as creating jobs during the construction phase and generating additional spending in the local economy when the new residents move in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The proposals include the creation of wildlife habitats such as hedgehog houses, and bat, bee and bird bricks to support biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>The hedgerow around the edge of the site would be retained and tree planting carried out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plans have been submitted for 102 homes in Chalfont St Giles, with half of the properties being designated as affordable.
