That\u2019s in part due to Persimmon\u2019s houses being priced around 15% below the newbuild national average, offering some resilience to the current market challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLooking ahead, buyer affordability will remain a key challenge for Persimmon to wrestle with in the new year. The market\u2019s currently pricing in two rate cuts by the end of 2026, which should help buoy buyers\u2019 purchasing power slightly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersimmon expects cost inflation to remain at a manageable level, helped by its in-house materials business, which provides quicker and cheaper access to key materials, shaving off around \u00a35,000 worth of costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith its valuation sitting well below the long-run average, Persimmon offers an attractive way to play the UK housing market, and there\u2019s a prospective dividend yield of 4.7% on offer to reward potential investors for their patience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s order book (the value of homes people have committed to buying) has increased by 2% year-on-year to \u00a31.2 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Housebuilder Persimmon completed 11,905 homes in 2025, an increase of 12% year-on-year.
